Simplification sounds easy right? NO, not a chance! The reason for this message is because there are millions of self proclaimed “fitness gurus” out there that claim they have the newest products that are going to change your life. Once you buy them in hopes of them working, they come out with something else. The process repeats, because of their mastery of marketing to your hopes and dreams of a better life. They win and we lose. There are so many ways that we could break down our lifestyles into different compartments, however, that would do nothing but confuse us. So we ask “What do we do?” Stop chasing our hopes through crummy products and scams and simplify our lifestyle. To do this look at the following areas that greatly impact EVERYTHING in life.
Activity is simply means getting active in our busy lifestyle. There is no reason to be sedentary. Especially if we have a physical labor job. We all know many people who are blue collar workers that bust their butt day in and day our while on the job. Many of them are overweight and in very poor health. Having a physically active job does not lead to a physically active lifestyle. No matter what type of job we have it boils down to more movement throughout our lives day in and day out.
Nutrition is huge and a vitally important part of your lifestyle. To simplify nutrition, if we eat poor we will look like bad. If we eat well we will look and live well. Many people seem to think that eating good food will change everything for them. This is NOT true. While we do need to eat well, it is more about nutrient timing and supplements that work. No matter how perfect someone eats, there is no perfect. Perfection does not exist. We all overeat from time to time and if you don’t you’re lying. Supplements are designed to fill in nutritional gaps, not replace food. To maximize our results we need to find a company that is reputable and stands behind its mission, not some fly by night company that makes medical claims or is found in every major BodyBuilding magazine with PAID endorsements by RoidHeads.
Self control is a problem that every human being has. Whether we admit it or not is up to us. We could look at it from the standpoint of food, money, alcohol, sex, work, drugs (prescribed or street), etc. The list goes on. Many of us will make over a million dollars in their lifetime. Because of a lack of self control and stupid decisions we will waste most of it. Overeating causes diabetes, heart health issues, and many more health problems. The simplest way to look at self control is this. We are the reason for our health issues. If we stop doing stupid things we will stop having our health get out of control.
So in order to be better we must do three things.
– Move more
– Eat better and more frequently
– Control ourselves
Through that process we can achieve anything in life.
