Fitness Hoopla or Basics?
The fitness industry is one of the most corrupt industries in the marketplace. There are constant scams, fads, diets, reality TV shows, and much more. We always hear about the next “new” thing that everyone is doing, but never the Champions that get it and change their world and the worlds of those around them. This post is to show you what is real and what is fake. It will hit hard so be ready.
Hoopla defined by Google: excitement surrounding an event or situation, esp. when considered to be unnecessary fuss.
Basics defined by Google: the essential facts or principles of a subject or skill.
So what defines hoopla and basics in fitness? What gives real results and what lies to people? These are questions everyone should ask themselves on a regular basis.
Hoopla looks like this: The Biggest Loser and any other “reality tv” show geared towards weightloss. The millions of dollars spent on marketing ads on tv for a “new” product or program. The millions of ads you see on social media, especially Facebook, which talk about “Secrets” and much more. Yes their methods sound good, but are ALL built on hype.
Basics look like this: Methodical, quite, and result driven WORK. Getting your nutrition in check. Knowing you can become more and if you don’t believe in yourself, find someone who will. Understanding the basics of physical activity and the MASSIVE value it can bring you in EVERY aspect of your life. Saying NO to the fads, gimmicks, and diets forever and committing to a lifestyle that will change your life and the lives of those you know, love, and care about.
