The Elite Baseball Athlete
Every day someone thinks their child is the best of the best. The reality is they are not. They lie to themselves. We play favoritism all the time, because we are proud of our kids. That’s how it works as a parent. Since I do not have a child, that leaves me to a non biased view of what an elite baseball player looks like. They are no different than you or me. They are an every day athlete, however they do possess on thing that most people do not. Absolute hustle. I’m not talking about the kids that are good. No one cares about good. Coaches, scouts, and fans want “good” to be left in the dugout. They are looking for the select few that crush the competition. That kid that can throw a fastball 100 plus miles an hour. That kid that can jack that 100 mile an hour hummer out of the park into somebody’s car windshield. We want the athlete that plays ball his whole life. The one that becomes a master of the pitch. The kid that no one likes. The one that’s small, maybe even frail. His determination is leads him to push, fight, practice, study, and destroy his competition. He is the one that knocks on the door of success and is thrown out EVERY single day, but keeps coming back. When he is finally ready. Success will answer.
So yes having a hitting and pitching coach helps tremendously. However, it is not everything. The best way to improve your chances of really being elite is mastering baseball skills, mastering strength and conditioning, mastering your nutrition (food and supplements), and mastering your mind. Do those things and you will do great.
More people die mentally because they surround themselves with people that tear them down instead of building them up.
Don’t. Do. That.
Love to hear from you all. Your comments mean a lot to me! 😉👊
